My name is Dimitri but my disc jockey name is DJ Mac. I am 20 years old and live in Spokane, Washington. I have been a DJ since 2005. In 2005 my mom was a leader in our church youth program. The program had been through many DJs and was looking for a DJ who could play the music that the kids wanted. She suggested that I try being the DJ just for this program. turn tables and a mixer that was only half working, I decided to invest in my own equipment. I continued to DJ for the youth program until the fall of 2007. During the winter of 2006 I was asked to DJ two weddings for a family friend. After those two weddings I started to DJ weddings and have done quite a few. In 2008 I decided to start my own business. DJ Mac Music was off and running in the beginning of 2008. The company itself is only ran by myself with no employees. I take pride in the work that I do. I have DJed full weddings, receptions, youth dances, dinners, and birthday parties. I am mainly a mobile DJ which means I travel to the customers. I am currently working on the skills of a turntablist (someone who can manipulate the music in such ways as scratching). I ran a short personal program with the interest of high school aged people. The programs was to be fun but have a clean environment with no dirty dancing. The program has only consisted of two major dances. The first dance was Summer Bash 2008 and was a success at 78 people and a $10 loss. The second dance was Techno Bash 2008 and was a flop with only 15 people. The program is currently at a stand still due to lack of help. If anyone is interested in the program let me know. I am currently DJing weddings, birthday parties, or any events available. My interests in music range to about everything. I love listening to oldies, classical, hip- hop, rap, latin, euro, techno, and my favorite R&B. I do not have a favorite artist because there are so many talented musicians. Among my favorite artists are Ne-Yo, Chris Brown, Eric Clapton, Nelly, Rihanna, and Dashboard Confessional. |
